Professional Career:

Ambassador Mohamed Abdullahi Ahmed is a seasoned diplomat and public servant with a distinguished career spanning nearly a decade  across security, administrative, and diplomatic fields.

• He began his public service in 2005 as Assistant National Security Advisor to the President, followed by several key administrative positions at the Office of the Prime Minister, including:
• Director of Logistics (2006–2007)
• Deputy Director of the Cabinet Affairs (2008–2009)
• Assistant to the Chief of Staff of office ofthe Prime Minister (2009–2010)
• Director of the Secretariat Department of the office of the Prime (2010–2012)
• In 2012, he was appointed Acting Director of Humanitarian Aid at the Ministry of Interior and National Security, serving until 2013.
• His diplomatic career began in 2014 when he joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. He was soon posted abroad as First Secretary at the Somali Embassy in Ankara, Turkey, where he handled consular and bilateral cooperation affairs (2014–2016).
• Upon his return, he served as Acting Director of State Protocol at the Ministry (2016–2017).
• From 2017 to 2021, Ambassador Ahmed held the influential position of Personal Secretary to the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, providing direct support on high-level diplomatic and executive matters.
• In August 2021, he was posted to Belgrade, Serbia, where he initially served as Chargé d’Affaires a.i.. In June 2022, he was formally appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary. Since assuming this role, he has been instrumental in strengthening bilateral relations between Somalia and Serbia, with a focus on political, economic, cultural, and educational cooperation.
